Supporting Open Source Software for Education
The Kuali Financial System has been an interesting "idea" to many colleges and universities. On July 1, 2009 Colorado State University and San Joaquin Delta College officially went live with Kuali, an open source financial system, making this idea a reality.
The Kuali Financial System (KFS), produced by the Kuali Foundation , is a comprehensive suite of financial software designed from the start to match the needs of colleges and universities. Its modular architecture enables it to accommodate all sizes of institutions at a very low total cost of ownership.
Colorado State University’s Patrick J. Burns and Allison Dineen, vice presidents for IT and Finance, share "KFS came up very cleanly and we are at present just idling along on our new, web-based, Service-Oriented Architecture! This is truly a great accomplishment for and by the entire Kuali Community."
We at rSmart are proud to have been involved in both Colorado State and San Joaquin Delta’s implementations by providing services to evaluate, implement, host and support the Kuali system. It has been an honor to support, train and collaborate with the exceptional teams at both institutions.
