Portfolio Showcase

Welcome to the rSmart ePortfolio Showcase. The ePortfolio Showcase highlights three ways of using the portfolio tools available in the Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment (CLE).

The Showcase is organized around three archetypal uses for portfolios:

• Personal Representation Portfolios
• Teaching and Learning Portfolios
• Assessment and Accreditation Portfolios

We've chosen these archetypes because they represent the most common applications of our portfolio system. They also provide a good indication of the breadth and depth of activity supported by the suite of open source portfolio tools.

The samples included here are based on actual implementations that rSmart has worked on in conjunction with some of our institutional partners. After exploring each sample, you should have a sense of:

• The educational context in which the portfolio was created
• The actors involved in creating and using the portfolio
• The objectives behind use of the portfolio
• The building blocks needed to assemble the portfolio
• The steps involved in constructing and implementing the portfolio
• Where to find step-by-step instructions for using the required Sakai tools
