Why rSmart Sakai?

rSmart creates its own distribution of organic, free-range Sakai. If you compare our product-development process to a conventional vendor’s, our starting point is different:

1. We start with the community release
   which includes contributions from nearly a hundred colleges and universities across the entire Sakai community
2. We smooth off the rough edges
   eliminating elements that could create reliability issues
3. We add enhancements
   created for (and sometimes by) our customers

From there the process is pretty familiar:

4. We test it like crazy
   until we are confident that we can successfully support you in production
5. We put it in a beautiful virtual box
   with documentation and tutorials just for you

Then we do something different again and a little crazy:

6. We give it all away … openly … to everyone
   under an OSI-approved educational community license
