Six different schools requested feature enhancements in this February release…will your school be next?
The next OneCampus release is scheduled for the late evening/overnight on Tuesday, February 27. No downtime is anticipated.
This release will contain bug fixes, accessibility improvements, and the following key enhancements:
- Simple Main Page
- Maintenance module for clearing report data
- Ability to filter mobile friendly tasks
- Target task level announcements to individual roles
- Ability to add bookmarks to favorite collections
- Ability to sort announcements by date filter
- Ability to link Canvas tasks to different areas within Canvas
- Ability to link Blackboard tasks to different areas within BlackBoard
Ever wish you could get your end users to pay more attention to the search bar within OneCampus? Consider your wish granted! Following this release, OneCampus Administrators will now have the option to display a simplified version of the main page that consists of a search bar only view. Similar to Google, when an end user visits the site they will only see the search bar, the category drop down and the sign in link. Once they interact with the site (search for something, select a category or sign in) they will then see the main store page until they end their browser session. Administrators can enable this setting for their tenant under the Advanced Settings module.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could pick a date to start fresh with your OneCampus report data? Now there is a new module called “Maintenance” which will appear within the Reports section. The Maintenance module allows OneCampus Administrators to pick a date to clear report data from the Search Terms report, Task Activity report, Task Center Activity report or Page Not Found report.
By popular demand, OneCampus Administrators now have the option to display only mobile friendly tasks when using a mobile device. Smart, right? Within the Advanced Settings area there is a new setting called “Filter by Mobile Friendly”. This setting will only be visible if the “Mobile Friendly Enabled” setting is turned on. Once you enable the “Filter by Mobile Friendly” setting, end users using a mobile device will only be able to see tasks that you have checked as mobile friendly. Additionally, a link will appear at the bottom of the screen to display any non mobile friendly tasks that apply to the search term.
There is now a new role drop down option located on the create a new announcement and edit announcement pages. This will allow Administrators and Publishers to target their announcements to individual roles. For example you can now post an announcement to a Task or Task Center and specifically notify staff of a deadline that doesn’t apply to other roles.
You asked and we answered! End users will now be able to add their OneCampus bookmarks into their Favorite Collections. This will allow for greater organizational control of items that appear within the Favorites section. Administrators will need to enable Bookmarking within Advanced Settings before end users will be able to use this functionality.
We are always listening to your suggestions to make your OneCampus experience more convenient. Now, we have added a new filter option to the Announcements list page. Administrators and Publishers will now be able to filter Announcements by begin date and end dates in addition to the already existing filter options for status and type. We have also added columns for the begin and end dates on the Announcement list page so that you no longer need to open each announcement to its date range..
OneCampus Administrators now have the option of deciding whether they want Canvas tasks to link to the Canvas Announcements page, the individual Canvas course page or to the Canvas dashboard. Located at the bottom of the Canvas configuration page, there is a new drop down called “Task Tiles link to”. If “Course Announcements” is selected, end users will be directed to the announcements section each time they click a Canvas task. If “Course Page” is selected, end users will land on the specific course details page. If “Canvas Dashboard” is selected, end users will be directed to the Canvas dashboard.
This may sound repetitive if you took the time to read the previous paragraph but know this is different. Blackboard isn’t Canvas. OneCampus Administrators will now have the option of deciding whether they want BlackBoard tasks to link to the BlackBoard Announcements page, the individual BlackBoard course page or to the BlackBoard dashboard. Located at the bottom of the BlackBoard configuration page, there is a new drop down called “Task Tiles link to”. If “Course Announcements” is selected, end users will be directed to the announcements section each time they click a BlackBoard task. If “Course Page” is selected, end users will land on the specific course details page. If “BlackBoard Dashboard” is selected, end users will be directed to the BlackBoard dashboard.
