Overnight, on July 24, rSmart will deploy the latest OneCampus release. No downtime is anticipated.
The release contains bug fixes as well as the following key enhancements:
- Canvas Connector
- Publisher permissions added to Permission Groups
- Bulk Task Edit button
- Campus Directory link on New Contact page
- Social Media links on Task Center Page
Canvas Connector – We are excited to announce that we have added Canvas to our list of available connectors. With this release, Canvas customers will be able to connect their Canvas instance to their OneCampus instance in just minutes! Once the connection has been configured by an Administrator, end users will authorize the connection to see their Canvas courses as task tiles on the Front Store page of OneCampus listed beneath their Favorites.
Publisher permissions added to Permission Groups – Later this year, rSmart will retire the Maintain Publishers module. At that time, all permissions will be handled through the Permission Groups module. Beginning with this release, OneCampus administrators will be able to grant publisher-level access to new publishers under the Permission Groups module. In an effort to make the transition from Maintain Publishers to Permission Groups as easy as possible, administrators will also be able to copy existing publishers from the Maintain Publishers module over to the Permission Groups module. Once Publishers have been moved from the Maintain Publishers module to the Permission Groups module, they will no longer be visible in the Maintain Publishers module. Over time and once all of your publishers have been moved, the Maintain Publishers module will be suppressed and the Permission Groups module will be your go-to place for all permissions-related actions within OneCampus.
On a related note, we will also plan to retire the Permission ACL’s section of the Maintain Settings module later this year. If you currently have ACL’s listed in the Maintain Settings module, please make plans to recreate those ACL’s within the Permission Groups module before the end of the year. We will provide additional communication as we near the sunset of this feature.
Bulk Task Edit button – We are always striving to make OneCampus as user friendly as possible. To that end, administrators will now have the ability to mass update data on tasks using the Bulk Task Edit button located in the Maintain Tasks module. This new functionality will allow you to quickly update tasks that share common data elements (such as contacts, roles, categories and tags) without having to make the changes separately for each task.
Campus Directory link on New Contact page – Ever wish you could quickly pull up your campus directory to find a phone number or email address while creating a new contact in OneCampus? With this release, administrators will be able to link their Campus Directory to the New Contact page for easy reference when creating contacts. To add your campus directory link to OneCampus visit Advanced Settings>Maintain Settings>Campus Directory URL.
Social Media links on Task Center Page – Expanding the functionality included in the last release, administrators and publishers can now add links to all of the most relevant social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram) to any Task Center page.
